The US has previously delivered $2 billion to the fund. The announcement comes after the US was criticized by some climate experts and advocacy groups earlier this week for contributing what they said was an “embarrassing” amount of money – $17.5 million – to a newly created damage fund to help developing countries cope with climate disasters.“The United States has turned ambition into action,” Harris said Saturday, touting billions of of dollars in new investments as pa...

FOXBORO — After Sunday’s shutout loss to the Chargers, the Patriots became the first NFL team in 85 years to lose three straight games while allowing 10 or fewer points in each outing. The Pats have reached historic levels of offensive futility, despite a recent change at quarterback. Backup Bailey Zappe went 13-of-25 for 141 yards Sunday in place of Mac Jones, while the offense went scoreless. Naturally, frustration has simmered in the locker room.Patriots defensive tackle Davon Godchaux gave voice to that frustration in a long post-game interview with the Herald.“It’s frustrating. It’s frustrating. I’m not gonna sit up here and say, ‘You know, I still believe.’ It’s f—ing frustrating. Anybody can tell you that,” Godchaux said. “You know, I thought Zappe made some good throws today. I thought there was a couple balls we could’ve caught as receivers, and those guys would tell you the same thing, too. They can take acco...

Callahan: How much worse can the boring Patriots get?

Published Sat, 22 Feb 2025 07:44:34 GMT

FOXBORO — Rhamondre Stevenson gimped off the field with 4:25 left in the first quarter Sunday, anguished by a fresh ankle injury that caused him to fumble and could soon cause him to miss games.Lucky him.Stevenson missed the rest of another miserable loss, another D-minus offensive performance, another is-this-rock-bottom moment for the Patriots.Somehow, we’re still asking, and they’re still sinking.Bailey Zappe, of course, was no savior. He completed 13 passes over 11 scoreless drives in the 6-0 loss, his first start of the season. Not that Zappe had much help.Until late in the third quarter, Stevenson still led all Patriots in all-purpose yards. Meanwhile, Tyquan Thornton dropped a pinpoint deep ball, DeVante Parker stepped out of bounds on another bomb, Ezekiel Elliott fumbled and JuJu Smith-Schuster finished with one catch for the fourth time this season.Credit to them for fighting through a miserably cold rain Sunday. But all credit stops there. How do Bill Belichick...

The latest Storm Tracker Forecast from meteorologist Kevin Appleby:Quite the soggy Sunday across the viewing area. Temperatures held steady between the mid 30s and low 40s.Another batch of wet weather is on the way and will impact parts of the region Sunday evening. For the northern mountains, this is where we expect to see some snowfall accumulation. Low temperatures won't drop all that far overnight, with most plateauing in the 30s. Precipitation will taper after midnight.Cooler and drier weather is on the way for much of the work week, but I can't rule out a few showers Monday. These showers are expected to be rain, potentially mixing with snow (higher terrain is more likely to see snow). No accumulations are expected, and high temperatures will actually rise a few degrees above average.Temperatures will trend downward Tuesday and Wednesday, with high temperatures struggling to reach the m...
