Rusty pipes producing odd-colored water in Festus FESTUS, Mo. - Neighbors in Edgewood and St. Mary’s, along with other parts of Festus, have been dealing with yellow, mucky water for some time. Officials say the cause is an old, outdated system that can’t support the city. Now, the city is working on a huge expansion and reimbursing residents for their water bills.Running water in areas of Festus, hasn’t been a pretty sight. The site of yellow, darkened water filling tubs and sinks has been a recurring issue over the last few years. It’s only gotten worse.“I maybe give her a bath once a week, if anything. I wipe her down with baby wipes because it’s just very concerning,” said mother Brittany Kebler, who’s scared to bathe her two-month-old and other two children.Kebler’s fears are shared among the many residents of the Edgewood community where she lives.“They say the water’s free of bacteria and E. coli, but it’s not free of rust or metal,” said Nathan Fisher, Kebler’s neighbor. How drought, supply chain issues could impact the Missouri State Fair SEDALIA, Mo. - In less than 48 hours, the 121st Missouri State Fair will kick off in Pettis County. If you're one of the roughly 350,000 fairgoers, you can expect to pay more for a corn dog, drink, and sandwich.Besides supply chain issues, drought conditions could also affect the annual 11-day event that showcases one of Missouri's top industries. On the fairgrounds Tuesday, final touches were being made as livestock and campers started filing into the barns and campgrounds."The cost of shipping for everybody involved, so the cost of food has gone up," Missouri State Fair Director Mark Wolfe said. While the price of admission for the fair isn't changing, there's a good chance the drought could take a toll on those coming to Sedalia. Bump-and-rob carjackings on the rise, police say "We finally got rain; it just came along too late," Wolfe said. "Our pastures at home were 5% of the hay that we would normally get, so it's been pretty rough."The Missouri Department of Agriculture has p...
