Stillwater school mourns 2 girls killed in Afton ATV accident Police on Tuesday released the names of the girls who died in an ATV accident in Afton on Saturday.Savanna Koeckeritz, 10, of Afton, and Alexis “Lexi” Gibson, 10, of Mahtomedi, were friends and classmates at New Heights School, a small K-12 charter school in Stillwater.Deputies found the girls trapped under an ATV after they were called to the Koeckeritz property in the 1000 block of Neal Avenue around 5 p.m. Saturday, according to the Washington County sheriff’s office. The deputies attempted life-saving measures, but were unsuccessful.The girls were in the ATV by themselves on the 8-acre property at the time of the accident, sources say.Both girls were in the 4th/5th class at New Heights School, which is located at 614 Mulberry St W., just west of downtown Stillwater.
