ALBANY, N.Y. (NEWS10) - Spring has sprung and that means yard work season is upon us. The warmer temperatures last week have put the growing season in overdrive. According to the Cornell Cooperative Extention (CCE), roots can start growing in February in New York.Know your grass:The first thing you should do is identify your grass strains to better attend to your lawn's needs. LOUIS COUNTY, Mo. – More than six weeks after St. Louis police officers shot a gun-wielding suspect following a brief chase from the city into the county, law enforcement has released body camera footage and audio from that incident.Although the incident involved SWAT officers with the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department, detectives with the St. Louis County Police Crimes Against Persons unit are handling the investigation.According to Sgt. The Suncor Energy refinery in Commerce City is shutting down one of its three plants for a $100 million maintenance project that the company says will reduce air emissions.Suncor announced the shutdown Monday morning via its emergency notification system. The notice did not specify the type of work being done, other than to say it was “planned, preventative maintenance” that is performed every few years. The work will last through early June.As the plant is taken offline, neighbors may notice increased noise and flares from the smokestacks on the property, the notice said.The maintenance also will bring additional workers to the refinery, with more than 700 extra people working across two shifts during peak times, the notice said. Several agencies collaborated to rescue an injured hiker at Malibu’s popular Escondido Falls on Sunday.Authorities say the adult female hiker suffered a leg injury and needed assistance.Search and rescue workers with the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s and Fire departments, along with Mountain Recreation & Conservation Authority responded to the scene.Rescuers hiked to the falls, stabilized the injured woman and carried her to an open location to be airlifted, the Malibu Search and Rescue team tweeted.Video shows a helicopter hoisting the injured hiker to safety on April 16, 2023.
