WARSAW, Poland (AP) — Two men have died in a shooting in a downtown restaurant in the Polish city of Poznan, local police said Sunday. A spokesman for Poznan police, Andrzej Borowiak, said the incident took place in the hotel restaurant garden on St. Martin street, in Poznan Old Town, an area popular with tourists. Borowiak said one of the two men was killed on the spot while the other died in hospital. The men were Poznan residents, aged 30 and 31. He said police are “sure” that one of the men was responsible for the incident and are trying to find out what was the connection between the two. Gazeta Wyborcza newspaper reported witnesses saying the one man shot the other and then shot himself. Authorities have identified the 17-year-old boy who died while swimming at Shannon Beach in Winchester on Saturday and was later pulled from the water by firefighters.Troopers, firefighters, and members of the Massachusetts Environmental Police responded to the beach in the Upper Mystic Lakes around 7 p.m. and the body of Luis Tejeda, of Lynn, was later recovered by Stoneham firefighters, state police said.The beach has no lifeguards after 6 p.m.There is no suspicion of foul play. Tejeda’s official cause of death is pending.A preliminary investigation suggests he was with a group swimming about 100 yards offshore in an area outside the swim zone. A Newton man is facing a charge of assault with intent to murder in connection with the beating death of his wife in their home on Brookline Street on Saturday night, the Middlesex District Attorney’s Office announced.Officers responding to a 911 call reporting an ongoing assault inside the home around 8:20 p.m. found Nancy Hanson, 54, suffering from apparent blunt force injuries, police said. She was taken to Brigham and Women’s Hospital, where she died. A preliminary investigation suggests her husband, Richard Hanson, 64, hit her with one of more objects multiple times. The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner has ruled the death a homicide and the cause was blunt force trauma. HAMPTON, Ga.
