SUNRISE, Fla. (AP) — As the Florida Panthers made a furious attempt to tie Game 4 — and the series — Saturday night, Adin Hill made the biggest save of his career as he denied Florida’s Matthew Tkachuk and Sam Bennett in the game’s closing seconds to give his team a win and commanding 3-1 series lead in the Stanley Cup Final.“I kind of saw where the puck was and just tried to do anything I could to get a piece of something on it,” Hill said. “In situations like that it’s just full on desperation.”His play this series has fueled the Golden Knights’ success and helped Vegas to a 3-2 win Saturday. The Golden Knights head back to Vegas one win away from hoisting their first Stanley Cup in franchise history. “Hillsy made the saves that we needed him to make,” Vegas defenseman Alex Pietrangelo said. “You can’t be surprised. How many games has he played here, as well as he’s played? He’s played well all year for us. All of our goalies have played well regardless of ...Miami Police search for missing 63-year-old man

Much of yesterday was beautiful with plenty of dry time before some late-day storms erupted across parts of metropolitan South Florida. This Sunday will feature fairly similar conditions, although storms should develop earlier in the afternoon.Expect lots of sunshine once again Sunday morning along with a southwesterly wind, which will drive high temperatures back up and into the upper 80s to low 90s by the early afternoon. By this time, a couple spotty showers will begin to develop, with hit or miss, scattered showers and thunderstorms becoming more likely in some spots after 2pm. This elevated risk will continue through around 8pm before most of this activity should fizzle after sunset.A few additional showers and storms could develop overnight tonight, especially across our southern locations, but most areas will be dry with lows ranging from the mid 70s to the low 80s.We will “rinse and repeat” on Monday with scattered showers and storms likely once again, with the m...Eva Kaili is free to go to Strasbourg for Parliament session, her lawyers say

An infamous art heist from over 30 years ago is getting a new rendition on the silver screen.Director Arthur Egeli is set to showcase “The Art Thief” at the Provincetown International Film Festival on June 15. It’s already sold out. With the filming taking place in Provincetown, the crew faced some hurdles in recreating the event. The first problem: You need a Rembrandt.“Being an artist and knowing artists, I could get the best reproductions,” Egeli said. “At least that part, when you saw the Rembrandt, and saw the Vermeer, you would suspend disbelief for that moment and say, ‘Oh my gosh I’m looking at the real thing.'”That sense of wonder is what Egeli hopes to evoke in his audience. Many of the viewers will remember the heist of the Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum in Boston, but “Art Thief” might have you look at it in a new way.“I’m hoping that people look at it and go, it could’ve happened that way…and maybe, likely, it did happen th...Six people shot in parking lot outside Houston club, police say

LONDON (AP) — The publicly funded health service in England has decided it will not routinely offer puberty-blocking drugs to children at gender identity clinics, saying more evidence is needed about the potential benefits and harms. The National Health Service said Friday that “outside of a research setting, puberty suppressing hormones should not be routinely commissioned for children and adolescents.”Children can still be given puberty blockers in exceptional circumstances, the NHS said, and a clinical study on their impact on kids is due to start by next year. The four new regional clinics are due to open later this year. They replace London’s Gender Identity Development Service, previously the only facility of its kind in England. It is scheduled to shut down after a review said it was overburdened by increasing demand and there was not enough evidence about the outcomes of its treatment.Hormone blockers are drugs that can pause the development of puberty, and are sometimes presc...Elvis Presley’s cousin lifts Democrats’ hope of ‘sleeper’ win in Mississippi governor’s race

GRENADA, Miss. (AP) — Conservative Mississippi is tough territory for Democrats, but the party sees an unusual opportunity this year to unseat first-term Republican Gov. Tate Reeves. They’re pinning hopes in November on a candidate with a legendary last name who has used his own compelling story to highlight the economic plight of working families in a state that has long been one of the poorest in America.Democrat Brandon Presley is a second cousin of Elvis Presley, born a few days before the rock ’n’ roll legend died. While campaigning, Brandon Presley talks frequently about government corruption, focusing on a multimillion-dollar welfare scandal that developed when Reeves was lieutenant governor. Presley, an elected member of the Mississippi Public Service Commission, is unopposed for the Democratic nomination for governor. He is pushing for Medicaid expansion to help financially strapped hospitals while telling voters about his own difficult childhood. “I understand ...Abstinence not required: How a Baltimore drug treatment program prioritizes saving lives

BALTIMORE (AP) — Anthony Kelly trudged through southwest Baltimore, each labored footstep a reminder of the roofing accident that left him with chronic pain and a raging opioid addiction several years after he returned home from serving in the Marines.Doctors used metal plates to reconstruct his lower legs and Kelly spent months learning to walk again. So began his plodding journey into the depths of substance use disorder, a downward spiral that would gradually weaken his body and consume his mind. After his prescribed painkillers ran out, Kelly turned to a combination of heroin and cocaine that sometimes cost $500 per day.More than a decade later, his substance use is more manageable and less expensive, though it remains a controlling force in his life. He takes buprenorphine, a prescription medication that’s considered the gold standard for treating opioid addiction by reducing cravings and easing withdrawal symptoms. He gets the medication through a mobile health clinic housed in ...Latest news
